This group specializes in developing and performing preparative and analytical scale procedures for isolation and quantification of known and novel compounds such as natural products, pharmaceuticals, and food additives using chromatographic, spectrometric, and spectroscopic techniques as well as bioactivity-guided approaches.
Our key research areas are:
- Isolation, characterization, and quantification of natural components
- Development of extraction and separation techniques to purify natural compounds from small to large-scale
- Development of analytical methods for qualification and quantification of small organic compounds using e.g. HPLC, GC, GC-MS and LC-MS
- Investigation of the relationship between the components of natural products and functional and/or health-promoting activities
