CIM’s first company visit was at Tentoma in Broager where we heard about the challenges of developing a fast and reliable horizontal packaging machine. The engineers and technicians from Tentoma demonstrated the functionality of the machine, and very soon Postdoc Fannia Pacheco from CIM had ideas how her research within neural networks could be used to automate the operation and quality control in the machine. Today, Fannia is supervising a graduate student in the development of such a system for Tentoma.
The next visit goes to Gearcentralen and we are visiting another four companies this year. The visits must be of benefit to the companies by providing them with access to creative ideas and new knowledge through various types of collaborative projects with CIM’s researchers, teachers and students.
