SDU-EOM is significantly involved the ECOPRODIGI project which aims at bringing eco-efficient processes and digital solutions to the Baltic Sea Maritime industry.
Our section takes part in 3 out of 5 work packages (WP) which are done for technology cases 1 and 2 among the following ones:
1. Digital Ship Operations, Performance Monitoring and Eco-efficiency (Small Ferries and Tanker / Bulker vessels)
2. Digital and Eco-efficient Cargo Stowage processes (Ro-Ro / Ro-Pax shipping)
3. Digital and Eco-efficient Ship yard processes
The aim of the project is to accomplish the following:
1. Map current state of industry processes and digitalisation, identify improvement challenges and assess unrealized potential for eco-inefficiency gains
2. Identify root causes for eco-efficiency gap, and propose digital solutions able to improve performance in the long and short term
3. Develop and test (prototype) digital solutions and ensure integration with existing systems as well as develop work processes, staff capabilities and skills
4. Assess implementation outcomes in terms of sustainability benefits and ROI
5. Develop and propose a road map for how make the maritime industry more digital and sustainable
6. Develop and test (prototype) training modules to main stakeholders
7. Enable ongoing dialogue between the maritime industry and policy-makers through policy workshops, policy briefings and agendas, as well as produce a set of EU policy recommendations
The project runs from October 2017 to December 2020
Progress and results from the project is available via the project’’s website
Publications will be available here
The project is funded by EU Baltic Sea Interreg.
