Labour Market Policy

At the Danish Centre for Welfare Studies, we study the transition of European labour markets from different perspectives. Our research covers the historical and political processes underlying change in labour market policies (e.g. job security regulations, unemployment benefits, activation) as well as the outcome level (i.e. changing employment patterns and welfare state generosity). Moreover, we are interested in the political consequences of labour market change. These include, for instance, the question of how changing employment patterns affect political preferences and voting behaviour.
