Can alternative news coverage strengthen the trustworthiness of journalism?
In collaboration with the digital paper, Zetland, the project aims to investigate how confidence in news media can be strengthened and how it might be possible to make people use alternative and trustworthy news media. Zetland is an interesting bid on such a new alternative and trustworthy news media. To examine these questions a so-called field experiment was carried out. Based on the results of the experiment, the researcher behind the project will advise Zetland, as well as other interested media, on their journalistic products. The experiment’s results will give these media a chance to improve their journalistic product and promotion. The future aim of the project is to contribute to the knowledge about how news journalism can be communicated in a way that enhances citizens’ trust in journalism.
