The project focuses on patients that have survived a cardiac arrest. A new study shows that patients that survive cardiac arrest have five times increased risk of suicide. Each year 5.400 people suffer from cardiac arrest outside of hospitals – only 16 per cent survive. Many of the survivors suffer subsequently from anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Scientists wish to interview citizens that have survived a cardiac arrest and include statistic to shed light on the incidence of mental health problems in the patient population.
