The living condition for people with dementia is affected by where the everyday life is lived. There are differences in living conditions and housing between rural and urban areas. How best to support people living with dementia depend on conditions and services in a variety of areas. This perspective is by a Citizen Science approach investigating how central and decentral infrastructure and cross-sectoral collaboration secures coherence in patient care. Further, we investigate if services for people living with dementia vary depending on population density between rural and urban areas thus will enlarge social inequality. This perspective aims to uncover the difference in the experienced challenges and possibilities connected to everyday life by citizen involvement. We strive to develop and secure dementia friendly initiatives in urban and rural areas by studying how different municipalities and regions work to achieve continuity of care and create dementia friendly societies.
