This research project is a fruitful collaboration between Media Science and SDU Life Cycle Engineering. The partnership is supported by the SDU Climate Cluster and connected to a larger project collaboration with the title Media Habits and the Environment.
The PhD project thoroughly investigates the role of the media in connection to climate transition, with a specific focus on Odense’s green mobilization plan.
The purpose of the research project is to uncover, analyze and understand how the media influence/affect and communicate the message about climate transition, especially within the framework of Odense’s visionary plan for green mobilization. By investigating the media’s habits and models the project seeks to shed light on how the influence of the media can strengthen or challenge the efforts to obtain a sustainable and green future.
The project is unique in its approach, as it unites the expertise of Media Science and SDU Life Cycle Engineering. This interdisciplinary approach permits an in-depth understanding of both the media content, as well as the climate-related impact and how the two areas affect each other mutually.
With the support of the SDU Climate Cluster, the project has the necessary strength to explore the complexity of the media’s role in the climate transition. The collaboration with the SDU Climate Cluster ensures that the project is embedded in the newest knowledge and technological development within climate research.
