Center for Health Informatics and Technology is happy to welcome Ph.D. student Rifa Atul Izza Asyari to the Department. He will work on his Ph.D. thesis; Unobtrusive Health Monitoring for Elderly People Living in their Domestic Environment. He will use a proof‐of‐concept of a radar‐based vital sign detection system which will be developed with state of the art of Intelligent Reflecting Surface for vital Sign Communications. Furthermore, in a second part of this thesis he investigate the feasibility of using Bioimpedance as a measurement technique that can be integrated into the toilet seat and give an estimate for body composition and therewith thirst (Bioimpedance spectroscopy) and stroke volume (Impedance cardiography). Rifa studied Master of Telecommunication engineering from National Sun Yat-Sen University and Bachelor Electrical Engineering from Universitas Islam Indonesia.
