Who are we?
The department currently has two full-time professors. A clinical professor in registry research (osteoporosis) and a clinical professor in hypertension. Both are employed in combined positions under the Department of Regional Health Research at SDU.
Our research
The research includes patients with some of the most common internal medical diseases (such as osteoporosis, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease).
Planned focus areas
- Clinical research using patient-relevant outcome measures - randomized clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and systematic reviews of randomized clinical trials.
- Development, testing, and implementation of eHealth tools to strengthen the treatment and prevention of major chronic diseases such as obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and kidney failure.
- Registry research with a clinical focus
- Research across internal medical specialties, hospitals, and national borders
