Research areas

The Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Department at Sydvestjysk Hospital receives patients for diagnosis and treatment in most subgroups of the field, concerning both benign conditions and investigation for suspected malignant conditions. The department is actively involved in research within these areas

The department has a broad network and research collaborations with several specialties within the hospital as well as external institutes. Current areas of focus include:

Rhinology
Sleep apnea
Method development with computational fluid dynamics in nasal surgery
Thyroid disorders

In addition, the research group provides mentorship and is active in research related to PhD programs. A priority goal is to involve resident physicians in research activities.
