Professor Nuno Peres, University of Minho, has been appointed Adjunct Professor
It is with great pleasure and proud that POLIMA hereby announces that Nuno Peres has accepted the title of Adjunct Professor in Polaritonic light-matter interactions at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Southern Denmark.
Nuno Peres has a broad expertise in nano-optics and condensed matter physics, from nano-optics of 2D materials, light-matter interactions at the nano-scale to electronic properties of 2D materials and many-body physics. He has formed a solid network at both national and international level, promoting collaborations with prestigious researchers and institutions.
In 2017, Nuno Peres was the most cited Portuguese scientist, which shows the great impact of his work. His publications are in a wide variety of prestigious journals, like Reviews of Modern Physics, Physical Review Letters and Science. In 2011, Nuno Peres received the Gulbenkian Science prize from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation for his work on graphene. Throughout his career, Nuno has supervised countless masters and PhD students, who have received the highest endorsements of their current institutions.
Nuno Peres is currently full professor at the University of Minho and an effective member of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon. Furthermore, Nuno Peres is also associated with the international Iberian nanotechnology laboratory, a scientific hub in Braga for nanotechnology with international relevance.
