Research vision for the department:
- The departments research should generate new knowledge and insight into prevention, disease detection, diagnostics and treatment. This in relation to population needs, the Health Council's specialization plan and the users.
- The research shall promote patient care in the region and in selected areas also from other regions, to both highly specialized treatment and population needs in general in relation to elucidation and treatment.
- The research shall support recruitment and retaining talented researchers in the department, which means create coherent career paths, preferably from graduate researcher, to postgraduate researcher, to postdoc and senior anchoring in the department.
- Department of Rheumatology aims to strengthen the cooperation profile, both locally, regionally, nationally and internationally within the main diagnoses / research areas.
- The research shall build a bridge between basic and clinical research.
- The research results shall be disseminated nationally and internationally in peer reviewed journals, as well as more popular forms of dissemination and article types, by teaching and at local research seminars and patient forums.
- Research must be a joint responsibility and a matter for all professional groups ind the department with the opportunity to participate in research for all professional groups.
