Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are generally complicated to prevent, as they are considered to be multifactorial of origin, meaning several factors may contribute to the development and aggravation of MSDs, including biological factors, psychological factors, and social factors, including work characteristics and work conflicts.
The involvement of workers in health and safety activities is critical to secure a successful prevention MSDs, however, many workplaces still struggle to apply participatory approaches in practice.
The aim of the PAMUS-project is to provide information to raise awareness of the importance of worker involvements in prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Furthermore, it provides information to support the use of participatory approaches and methods to involve workers in MSD risk assessment and prevention and is of relevance to both micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and larger companies.
The project is carried out by PI Peter Hasle, in collaboration with a project team with researchers from SDU-Health, University Grenoble Alpe and Tallinn School of Economics and Business Administration. The project is financed by the European Agency for Safety & Health at Work (EU-OSHA).
