My name is Oskar Palinko. I'm a new Assistant Professor at SDU Robotics, MMMI. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. I obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, USA and finally a PhD in Bioengineering and Robotics from the Italian Institute of Technology. After my Master's I worked as a Research Engineer at the University of New Hampshire. For my PhD I enabled the iCub humanoid robot to track the gaze of humans to improve its interaction with people. After my PhD, I spent 2 years as a postdoc at Ishiguro Lab, Osaka University, Japan working on human robot interaction for a desktop social robot.

My current interests are in human robot interaction, computer vision, gaze tracking, human intention estimation, etc. At SDU I will be working closely with Norbert Krüger and Leon Bodenhagen on the SMOOTH, Health-CAT and other projects to further develop the interaction capabilities of the existing and planned welfare robots.
