New Advisory Board to contribute to the Faculty’s development

A new Advisory Board has been tasked with providing input to and perspectives on the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences’ future development and strategic initiatives.

At SDU, interaction with society is paramount, and this is also the underlying basis of a newly established Advisory Board at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences to get external partners’ opinions on how the Faculty can position itself even more strongly in the future.

Named the SDU BSS Advisory Board, the board is composed of deans from a number of European universities, business partners, alumni and representatives from the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

Kristin B. Munksgaard, Director of the SDU Business School, is leading the effort, and she says:

- An Advisory Board is a great forum to get outside perspectives on our organisation and help on our journey towards continued high quality. The members can help ask the good questions and come up with constructive ideas on our current development and how we should evolve even more as a faculty.

The initiatives on which the Advisory Board will initially contribute knowledge and advice are the development of a strategy for SDU Business School, a strategy for internationalisation, and the Faculty’s ongoing accreditation process.

Development of SDU Business School

The new Advisory Board consists of 16 members, one of whom is Dorthe Lund Kaack, who holds a PhD in Political Science from SDU in 2015 and currently heads the company C.C.N. Holding A/S.

When asked about her participation, she says:

- I have agreed to join the Advisory Board for two reasons. I earned my PhD degree at SDU and I have a fairly good knowledge of the university and the research and teaching being conducted there and today, I am the director of a family office and owner of a large business in Odense. With my insight into the business world and my knowledge of SDU, I look forward to working with the other members of the board and giving constructive input that can contribute to the continued development of SDU Business School.

Great synergies to be gained

Kristin B. Munksgaard is looking forward to the new collaboration:

- I am particularly looking forward to the synergies that will emerge in the network. We are in touch with some of our alumni, with different companies, and with other universities, but I don’t remember being part of a forum where all three parties participate and advise us at the same time. It’s going to be really exciting, and I’m sure it will lead to many interesting and fruitful discussions, Kristin B. Munksgaard concludes.

The Advisory Board will meet twice a year and has recently met for the first time.
