New technologies are often implemented as part of an ambition to perform better and more effective treatments and care and a desire for improving the well-being of the healthcare personnel. But, at the same time, new technologies often challenge common perceptions regarding the distribution of roles and interactions among healthcare actors. We engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration to study technological solutions and their impact on practices among patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals. The central questions which drive our research agenda, and which we aim to answer from various theoretical viewpoints, are the following:
- How is the implementation of new technologies accomplished and in which ways are different healthcare actors included in the various phases of this process?
- How do the transformation goals, and the expected impact on partners prior to the implementation, differ from the achieved results and consequences?
