AcuteX receives funding

The AcuteX project received 100,000 DKK from SDU Climate Cluster for investigating the impact of extreme weather and hospital demand in Denmark.

The AcuteX project, set for completion in April 2024, received 100,000 DKK from SDU Climate Cluster. AcuteX is investigating the impact of extreme weather events on emergency hospital service demand in Denmark.

By employing advanced statistical methods and analyzing existing hospital activity data, researchers aim to uncover the epidemiological associations between weather-related events—such as floods, storms, and heatwaves—and increased strain on emergency healthcare services.

The findings from this study will form the basis for a weather risk management system, integrating climate risks into hospital planning to enhance the sustainability and preparedness of Danish healthcare systems.
