IRCA scientific film festival
As a part of the Festival of Research the new innovation cluster, IRCA, hosted a scientific film festival. Four finalists were presented at the scientific film festival ceremony in the Concert Hall, Alsion Sønderborg.
The beginning of the scientific film festival ceremony marked the arrival of the guests on the red carpet. Among the many guests of the film festival ceremony were the mayor of Sønderborg Kommune, Erik Lauritzen, and the president of the Fachhochschule Flensburg, Holger Watter. Further, many important stakeholders from the Danish-German region found the way to the beautiful Concert Hall to celebrate the four finalists of the scientific film festival.
Four very different short films
Participating in the final of the scientific film festival were four very different short films from high schools in Esbjerg, Nykøbing Falster, Aabenraa and the Fachhochschule Flensburg. All of the short film had the topic light but the implementation differed very much. After having seen the four finalists the audience had the possibility to vote for their favourite. But the last word and the final decision had the jury of the scientific film festival.
The winner takes it all....
The public vote was very clear: Fachhochschule Flensburg with their short film "Licht und Schatten" was the winner but the jury had no shadow of a doubt and voted for another short film to be the winner of the film festival; Mathias Bjerre and Eden Turin from Rybners Gymnasium in Esbjerg. These two guys were the winner of a 25.000 kr. travel stipend sponsored by Sønderborg Kommune.
