Innovation and Business students developed business ideas in Berlin
In late August, three Innovation and Business students from SDU Sønderborg participated in SPICE Startup Camp in Berlin to develop their own businesses.
Along with 27 other student entrepreneurs from both Denmark and Germany, three Innovation and Business students from SDU Sønderborg worked for five days in the entrepreneurial metropolis Berlin, where they developed their business ideas, shared experiences and got an impression of the entrepreneurial environment of the city. Among other things, the participants visited office communities, a mentoring program, etc.
-It was exciting to see office communities and fantastic to get the possibility to pitch our idea in front of different people from Berlin´s startup scene”, says Krestian Muusmann, who is studying Innovation and Business at SDU Sønderborg. Together with his fellow student Jan-Philip Riebenstein is working on developing a smart watch for kitesurfers which can register the kitesurfer´s jumps, speed and distance.
Valuable contacts
-We got great feedback, which confirmed that we are on the right track with our business idea – and we got a concrete business contact from GTEC Berlin, which we visited. It is a direct link to Funders Kiteclub, which is a network of kitesurfers, who also are entrepreneurs and investors. Very valuable”, says Krestian Muusmann.
-I can only recommend other start-ups to participate at the camp next year. It is great to experience that you can help and inspire each other in spite of the differences in ideas and that you can meet others with a passion for their business idea”, tells an excited Simone Sommer Degn, who participated at the camp as SDU student.
SPICE Startup Camp is organized by interAct of SDU as part of the interreg project SPICE. The project run until July 2018. The next SPICE Startup Camp is from August 20-24 2017.
