SDU Digital is the pivot of SDU’s work on digitalisation across research, education, knowledge collaboration and administration.

About SDU Digital

SDU Digital consists of the departments Design, Compliance and Transformation. The main focus is to support the University’s digitalisation strategy, acting as PMO, ensuring a focus on information security/data protection as well as being responsible for IT architecture, project management and development, with the aim of designing and developing coherent and user-focused digital solutions.

Compliance contributes to ensuring that information security and data protection are both factually and formally integrated with SDU’s strategic direction. In co-operation with other units and faculties in the organisation, Compliance sets the policy direction in the area, provides general guidance and internal supervision of SDU’s data protection and information security. Compliance prepares policies, guidelines, tools, templates and the like for assessing systems and guidelines, for instance, for data protection in students’ independent assignments.

Compliance supports the building of knowledge with key employees (e.g. SDU’s local GDPR and information security co-ordinators), acts as a point of entry for any needs/requests and is responsible for ensuring that all relevant information and materials regarding data protection and information security are disseminated to the organisation. Compliance also serves as the secretariat for the Committee on Information Security and Data Protection.
In Design, our primary function is to support all of SDU in the development and maintenance of digital solutions and tools. Our tasks require that we always have a deep understanding of what is happening in all parts of the organisation. We believe that the foundations for solving our tasks must be firmly rooted in project management, a strong architectural landscape and development based on the latest technologies.

In our daily operations, we work as a cross-functional team consisting of project managers, architects and developers. In close collaboration, we take new ideas from the drawing board and develop and integrate them into the day-to-day operations at SDU. At the same time, we are an essential part of the largest digitalisation projects at SDU.
In Transformation, we create value for SDU through digital development of the organisation. We strive to strengthen SDU’s ability to navigate a digital reality in which development and change occur at an ever increasing pace. Our work is based on a desire to make the best use of SDU’s existing digital capabilities and systems. At the same time, we scout out new value-creating solutions and ways of working.

The department operates SDU’s digitisation portfolio and IT architecture, provides programme management of major cross-cutting digitalisation projects, is responsible for SDU’s digitalisation strategy and offers assistance and specialist knowledge for digital development in the organisation.
