Large Structure Production

This program has a flexible start and length

Preferred student profile

Academic study field:
Robotics, Automation, Digitalization, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering

Background / Interest:
Buildings. Bridges. Ships. Wind turbines. World-wide these and similar large structures are the very fundament of our technological infrastructure in terms of housing, transportation, and energy generation.

However, despite their central role, these large structures are still basically built manually; the sectors construction, maritime and energy for decades now not being capable of sufficiently catching up with developments in smart production as we implemented them, for instance, in the automotive industry.

The mission of SDU’s Center for Large Structure Production (LSP) is to systematically address the green and digital transformation of the sectors construction, maritime and energy with the research and development of novel digitalization and robotization solutions.

Maximum number of students to host: 3

Description

In our close collaborations with company partners, we can offer a wide range of engineering tasks ranging from the development of new software and control modules, over the installation and commissioning of novel automation hardware, to 3D simulation, 3D modelling and process experiments with materials such as steel, concrete, composites and others.
