Entry requirements
To apply for the Master's programme in Environmental and Resource Management you need a relevant Bachelor's degree. You can apply if you hold one of the following Bachelor´s degrees:
- Economics and Business Administration from SDU and from other Danish universities
- Economics from SDU and from other Danish universities
- Environment and Resource Management (former Environmental planning) from SDU and from other Danish universities
- Market and Management Anthropology from SDU and other Danish Universities
- Mathematics-Economics from SDU and from other Danish universities
- Sociology and Cultural Analysis from SDU if you complete a supplementary course in Microeconomics (5 ECTS) before study start.
- European Studies from SDU if you complete a supplementary course in Microeconomics (5 ECTS) before study start.
- Another Bachelor’s degree which includes a minimum of 10 ECTS in one or more of the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Linear programming
- Microeconomics
- Macroeconomics
- Quantitative Reasoning
English language requirements
The programme is taught in English. Therefore, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English unless your Bachelor's gives you a legal claim for admission. See the English language requirements.
Statement of academic interest
If there are more qualified applicants than there are places, applicants without a legal claim are selected on the basis of a statement of academic interest. In preparing the statement of academic interest you should address the following questions:
- How is your previous educational experience relevant to this particular programme? Include and relate to the course description of this programme
- What qualifications and experiences do you have with respect to quantitative reasoning and methods, and how have these qualifications and experiences influenced your choice of programme?
Supplementing your degree
It is possible to supplement your Bachelor’s degree with the following courses (a maximum total of 10 ECTS) to meet the admission requirements:
- 5 ECTS in Statistics
- 5 ECTS in Microeconomics
Any supplementary courses must be completed before study start.
As a Bachelor student at SDU, you can apply for permission to follow up to 30 ECTS Master-level courses even though you have yet to complete your Bachelor’s degree.
You can be granted permission if you have the necessary academic qualifications. The progression of your Bachelor’s programme is crucial to the outcome of your application.

Have you completed a Master’s programme?
If you’ve already obtained a Master’s degree, you can only be admitted to a new Master’s programme if there are vacant study places in the programme.

As long as you do not hold a Master’s degree, you are free to apply for admission to a new programme.
