The SDU UAS Test Center is part of SDU UAS Center and is located at HCA Airport near Odense. In 2016 SDU purchased the 2200m2 airport hangar and began a total renovation of the premises to house the state-of-the-art laboratories and test center facilities that we find today.
SDU UAS Center is affiliated under the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The composite laboratory is affiliated under Department of Technology and Innovation, SDU.
UAS Denmark Test Center
SDU UAS Center is a partner of UAS Denmark, a national network organisation for over 150 drone companies. Partners of UAS Denmark are Odense Municipality, HCA Airport, and SDU.
Together the partners of UAS Denmark coordinate activities under the umbrella known as UAS Denmark Test Center in order to develop the potential and possibilities for the Danish drone industry.
UAS-ability project
SDU UAS Test Center is supported by the Danish government as part of the UAS-ability project. UAS-ability is a collaboration between Danish universities, with the aim to ensure a national research infrastructure for drones.
The Danish National Drone Strategy
SDU UAS Test Center, UAS ability and UAS Denmark is a result of the Danish National Drone Strategy that was launched in September 2016.
