Heidi Fredsgaard is holding one of the two PhD positions. She received her MA from University of Southern Denmark in 2007 and has been working as a teacher for Danish as a Second Language at University of Southern Denmark in Sønder-borg and Flensburg as well as at several other institutions for many years. Her main area of research in the project is the concrete description of Danish modal particles, whose linguistic status has not yet been properly recognized and for which so far no comprehensive description is available; her task is also to develop a representation of her findings that can be used by teachers for Danish as a Second Language and thus to make the results of the project available to a larger audience.
