Individual preferences and multiple criteria in automated decision making - examples from practice
Associate Professor Marco Chiarandini, IMADA, SDU
Designing intelligent agents that support humans in their tasks or independently perform tasks as well as, or better than, humans requires careful alignment of their decision-making goals with our own. But how do we effectively elicit, model, and integrate these goals into algorithms? In this talk, we will explore real-world examples of algorithm design, including systems that manage our time, allocate students to projects, and assist people with dementia when they get lost. We will examine the strategies used to ensure these algorithms are not only effective but also trustworthy, transparent, and aligned with human values.
