Career development is strongly embedded in the research strategy for the Department of Ophthalmology at Odense University Hospital. It is vital for us to identify and attract talents at early career stages and facilitate a potential academic and clinical career in ophthalmology. This can take many forms, but will often include well-defined stages including
1) pre-graduate study
2) PhD-study
3) post doctoral research in parallel with clinical training in ophthalmology
4) establishment as independent senior researcher and trained ophthalmologist
