From the individual patient deciding on the treatment plan, to healthcare providers organizing and planning health systems for entire populations — society depends on rigorous evaluation of scientific evidence to inform stakeholders on what can be considered best-practice and the expected outcomes of various decisions. Evidence-based ophthalmology deals with the synthesis of evidence into meaningful information on prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment of eye diseases. Our work allows for better clinical guidelines, information to patients, and organizational decision-making.
